Danika Gough fell in love with softball at the young age of three. She began her career battling the boys in T-Ball and started competitive ball when she was 12, playing on the Eclipse.
Gough attended Riverton High School, where she played and lettered all four years. She suffered an ACL tear her junior year, but it was a minor setback.
Her determination got her back on the field in time to start her senior year. Her success in high school lead her to a softball scholarship at Snow College.
“I really enjoy the mental aspect of the game. I like trying to outsmart the opponent,” said Danika. “Softball has taught me to be a hard worker and leader on the field as well as off the field.”
When not playing softball, Danika enjoys four wheeling and going on drives. She also loves going on vacations, one of her favorites being Disneyland. However, her all-time favorite was her senior trip to Italy.
Danika will continue her education at Utah Valley University where she will major in biology. After she receives her degree, she plans to get a paramedic license.
“I’ll miss the small town and old time feel, but most of all, I’ll miss all the friends that I’ve made,” said Gough.
Danika’s next big step towards her future will be getting married to her sweetheart, Jacob Dansie, in the Draper Temple.
