Last Wednesday, January 25th, Snow College held a code orange drill which was run by local law enforcement and college staff. Code Orange covers a broad area of safety hazards including: bombs, active shooters, natural disasters, chemical spills, as well as others.
Among the focuses of the drill was “run, hide, fight” which is one of the safety procedures taught to Snow’s students on a regular basis. Other safety procedures such as evacuation routes were also part of the drill. High school students taking classes via IVC were also encouraged to participate in the drill.
Students are encouraged to sign up for Snow College’s emergency alert system, which can be done by logging into Badgerweb. Doing so will allow students to be notified by e-mail and/or text message of any campus emergency that may take place.
