Ephraim, UT-In coordination with the Snow College football team, as well as classes and labs at the Snow College Communication Department, under the direction of Professor Malynda Bjerregaard, students are pleased to be involved in a fundraising campaign for extensive renovations at a crucial trailer park in Ephraim, Utah.
The park is home to numerous immigrant families and the closure of the park will leave families with little options for residence. The current living conditions of the park are unsustainable: with poor sanitation and water issues, the impact on children and families is exponential. Upon hearing of its closure due to these circumstances, the community decided that the owner of the trailer park should be given a second chance to better the park before putting these families out of their homes.
The trailer park project improvements will depend on the amount of money raised. The major focus of the project will be adding cement and sidewalks, enhancing landscape appeal with grass, xeriscaping, rocks, trees, and shrubs, building two firewalls, and also creating some garbage containment areas.
A GoFundMe page will be promoted on Social Media and a fundraiser will be held at Snow College on April 8, 2017 from 9 AM to 1:30 PM.
