This year, the Snow Dance Ensemble (SDE) has been given the opportunity to have three guest choreographers on campus for the last few months. Brad Beakes and Alexandra Bradshaw are with the Ririe Woodbury Dance Company, and Angela Banchero-Keller dances with the Repertory Dance Theater as well as being a Professor of Dance at UVU.

Both choreographers with Woodbury Dance had residencies with SDE starting in September. For those who don’t know, a dance residency, as explained by Patricia Meredith, is “an intense period of time where a choreographer works with the dances from four to eight hours a day for approximately a week.”

Angela Banchero-Keller visited Snow College in October and choreographed a piece called “Blackbird.”

These three choreographers have put together pieces that will be featured in the dance concert later this week, along with two dances choreographed by Patricia Meredith, and another dance choreographed by Snow College student Darren Robinson. There will also be special guest artists from the SUU Departments of Theater and Dance.

The concert will take place on November 21 and 22 beginning at 7:30 pm. For tickets, go to the Box Office at the Eccles Center for the Arts.
