Free Tutoring Services at Snow

Don't forget to like and share! 🙂

Snow College has free services to help students with classes. The classes included for tutoring are English, math, physics, and chemistry. If students are feeling stressed with any of these subjects, tutors can help ease that stress.

First and foremost is the Writing Lab, located in the Humanities Building. Noel Malenosky, English tutor of both the writing lab and student support services, said about the writing lab, “Our goal is to help the student through the process of the paper. We’re like an extension of the teacher. We don’t want to edit; we want to be the tutors to help you write a paper without being stressed about it.”

The writing lab is an excellent place to get help with papers, and not just English papers. They accept papers from all classes, even science classes. To best help students with the writing process, the writing lab asks them to bring the requirements for the paper and the research for the paper (if any). Like Noel said, they’re there to help with the paper, not to just edit.

Another free service is the Math Lab. These folks are in the Noyes Building room 101. Brooke Smith, math tutor, said about the math lab, “Our purpose is to help people succeed in math.” To help students succeed, they ask that students bring a good attitude and a desire to get things done. This lab also offers help with physics, chemistry, math 1040 and 2040. These are at certain times and with certain tutors.

Also there are plenty of professors who provide tutors for their classes, so be sure to check with them. It is highly recommended that students take advantage; after all, these resources are here to help them succeed.
