Holiday Activities

The Christmas holiday is a popular time for families and friends to get together. Traditions have been part of the holiday season for a long time.

Some of the most common traditions are, baking goodies, building gingerbread houses, setting up Christmas decorations, or wearing matching Christmas pajamas.

The classic tradition of baking goods is a great bonding experience with the endless options of what to bake. One classic holiday favorite is building gingerbread houses. The outcome can be infinite and one might even make a sugary mess. It can also be turned into a judged competition where the winner receives a prize!

Setting up decorations for Christmas can take a lot of work, but when it’s done the memories will last a lifetime. It’s a great way to turn a home into a winter wonderland that everyone is able to enjoy.

Another common tradition is everyone gets to open a present early, but the catch is they’re all pajamas. A current Snow College student, Nephi Zitting, states “it’s so fun opening a Christmas Eve present and getting to show off our new pajamas. At the end of the day, when it’s time to sit and relax to maybe watch a movie or chat about the newest gossip, we can do it in style.”
