Snow College Athletics Director Rob Nielson has announced Gunnison Valley High School head volleyball coach Jeff Reynolds has been selected to lead the Badger volleyball program, effective immediately.

“Coach Reynolds brings a great deal of collegiate athletics experience to the Badger volleyball program,” Nielsen said. “He has been around college athletes for several years, has a solid understanding of what it takes to run a program, and has been associated with collegiate volleyball at the highest level. Over the years he has associated with and learned from many of the top volleyball coaches in the nation. We’re impressed with what he was able to accomplish at Gunnison Valley in such a short period of time. We’re excited to welcome him to Snow College.”

Reynolds brings over 16 years of collegiate athletics experience to his new position, including nearly 10 years working with the BYU football and men’s volleyball programs. As the sports information director over the men’s volleyball program at BYU the Cougars won the NCAA National Championship in 1999, 2001 and in 2004. Reynolds moved to Gunnison Valley HIgh School in 2014 as a business education teacher, and helped coach the football and girls’ basketball teams. Last season, Reynolds was named the head volleyball coach at GVHS and led the Bulldogs to a 10-win season.

“This is a wonderful opportunity,” Reynolds said. “Since moving to Sanpete County a year and a half ago, we have come to fall in love with Snow College and everything the school has to offer. Snow College is such a great place. We are excited to be part of the campus community and look forward to the challenge of building a nationally prominent women’s volleyball program.

“At the same time it is difficult to leave Gunnison Valley. I will miss working with the administration, the great teachers, the parents, and the really amazing kids. I believe we started something great with the volleyball program and want them to know how proud I am of them. I want them to know how much I enjoyed working with them and look forward to following their progress.”

Reynolds will continue to teach at GVHS until a replacement can be found.

Reynolds is married to Char’Ree Brockband of Fresno, California. She is employed in the admissions office at Snow College, and works closely with the ambassadors. The couple have six children, including five daughters and a son. Reynolds and his wife also have two grandchildren.
