With .04 seconds left in the game, Snow College’s sophomore guard sunk a pair of clutch-free throws to ice the conference game to 62-61 against Utah State Eastern on January 18th.
Sophomore guard Harley Hansen led the lady badgers by scoring 13 points, in which nine of those points came in the second half. Hansen also recorded three steals, three rebounds and four assists. Many of the other lady badgers contributed to scoring, too, such as Madison Mooring, who added eight points, and four other players, who scored six points each (Jazmin Chavez, Savannah Domgaard, Lourdes Gonzalez, and Megan Carr).
The Badgers led for most of the game, taking an 11-point lead of a Mooring Jumper towards the end of the first half. Utah State Eastern started to chip away at the Badgers’ lead in the second half. Eastern managed to tie the game at 55-55, with a little over three minutes remaining. The Badgers managed to regain the lead for the rest of the game as Hansen gave the Badgers a 62-58 lead before Eastern’s Madison Loftus drained a last second three pointer to make the final score 62-61.
This win gives the Badgers a 15-5 record on the year and a 2-1 record in conference play. The Badgers’ next game will be Thursday, January 25th against the College of Southern Idaho in Ephraim, Utah.
