The Lady Badgers ended their last six game homestand with a disappointing loss to Salt Lake Community College (SLCC) 59-78, on Saturday Jan. 24. This resulted in SLCC staying at the top of the Scenic West Athletic Conference (SWAC) with two wins over the Lady Badgers.

Assistant Coach Brett Sawyer commented on how he felt the game went, “SLCC came out in the second half playing like champions, and we just didn’t step up our game to match them.”  This loss now puts the Lady Badgers 17 – 4 overall for the season, and 5 – 3 in the conference.

The Lady Badgers now face five road games before returning to Ephraim to play their final two games before the Region 18 tournament, which will be held in Price. “Road games are nice. There are no distractions. We can just focus on basketball,” says Coach Sawyer.  It’s sounding like the Lady Badgers are looking forward to these road games.

The last of their road games will be against SLCC held in Salt Lake. “After these road games we will have a good idea of where we will be standing in the conference,” says Coach Sawyer.

These last games will determine a lot, but these women know what it takes to get it done.
