The Snow College men’s basketball team is set to begin conference play as they complete their preseason and out-of-conference schedule.

The Badgers played in 12 games as November came to an end, including their participation in the Foss Motors Thanksgiving Classic. These 12 games resulted in a fast start for the Badgers as they went 7-5 including a 2-0 record as they hosted the Snow College Classic.

The team has exceeded many expectations, finding success despite losing several key players from last year. The most notable absence has been the loss of Walter Wright, starting point guard on the 2014-2015 team. Wright averaged 21.8 points per game and even broke the single-game scoring record at Snow College, putting up 49 points against Sheridan College.

The loss of Marcus Bryce, Aziz Leeks, and Larenz Stalcup has created another void. The big men combined for 22.7 points per game last year, working together to assert a dominant force in the paint.

Despite these challenges, the new Badger squad has shown they are up for the task. Guard Nate Moore leads all scorers with 14.9 points per game, showing a strong presence during his first year on the team. Big men Norbert Janicek and Braden Koeliker have been strong additions this year, combining for 23 points per game.

The Badgers will begin conference play on Dec. 10 as they host Utah State University Eastern at 7:30 pm in the Horne Activity Center.
