Men’s Basketball on the Road to Victory

The Snow College men’s basketball team has had a winning season. With nine games remaining, they are hoping to pull off enough wins to help them advance to the Region 18 tournament.

More than halfway into the season, the Snow College Badgers have had a winning record of 11-10. They are hoping to continue their winning streak after an impressive 90-50 victory over the Colorado Northwestern Community College, Spartans, who are in their conference for the NJCAA (Type out). They shot extremely well from the field, including a whopping 47.8 percent from three-point-land, which is the highest percentage from beyond the arc the team has had thus far this season. Led by Norbert Janicek’s eighteen points and seven rebounds. He is the fourth leading scorer in Snow College’s region, and Brandon Koelliker is the second leading rebounder. Their other notable conference win was against the Utah State Eastern Golden Eagles on December 10th, winning 90-67.

Snow College was recently involved in the Fiesta Bowl Junior College Shootout. They went 1-1, with a notable win over the Mesa Community College Thunderbirds. Led by Brandon Koelliker’s 16 points and 6 rebounds.

The Badgers have played three of their five road trip games so far. Their next away exhibition will be against Utah State Eastern, while the Southern Idaho Golden Eagles will be in town January 28.  The exhibition against the Golden Eagles will start 7:30 pm at the Horne Activity Center.The game will be the first of five they will play at home. Come support the men’s basketball team at home, as they aim to victory this season.
