The Snow College Men’s basketball team has had a strong start to the 2016-17 season. With an
overall record of 17-2, the Badgers are undefeated in conference play with wins over the College of Southern Idaho (105-81), Salt Lake Community College (83-80), Colorado Northwestern Community College (96-64), Utah State University-Eastern (86-79) and another win over the College of Southern Idaho (84-79).
In discussing the team’s success thus far, Athletic Director and Head Coach Robert Nielson said, “It has been a great start to the season. We played a good non-league schedule that prepared us for the tough conference games we are now playing. This is a very unique group who play the game in a very unselfish style. It’s been a pleasure to be able to work with each of them.”
The team is now preparing to take on Utah State University-Eastern once again, this time on the road. While they may not have the home court advantage, the Badgers are focusing on teamwork to continue their success. Sophomore Mason Rich said, “We’re very united in our culture and the principles our coaches teach us. We’re very unselfish. It’s fun that way because there are no individual worries. It’s always about the team’s success.” Isaac Faldmo added to his teammate’s comment and said, “We have a lot of talent, but what makes us so great is how well we play together. Everyone’s strengths complement each other really well.”
Currently ranked 21st in the nation, the Badgers are working to continue their winning streak before the conference tournament and playoffs in March.
