Snow College weekly open mic nights have been attracting performers and spectators since the beginning of the school year and more are always welcome to come.

Open mic nights are held in the Snow Hall lobby on Tuesdays at 8:30 pm. Microphone, guitar and piano are provided and all musicians are welcome to perform.

Snow Hall started holding open mic nights earlier this semester. The Solid Rock Café has also been doing this for about five years.

The Solid Rock Café holds their open mic nights on Thursdays from 7 to 9 pm. The café welcomes many different types of performances like poetry, spoken word and music.

Chris Lauti currently organizes and heads the open mic night at the Solid Rock.

Chris states that the purpose of holding the event is to create a safe environment for anyone to come and share their talents and to create conversations among students.

“We are just inviting everybody out. Just come to have a fun time even if you just come sit and hang out.”

The café is located on the corner of 100 East and Center Street and is regularly holding events for people to come and participate in.

Chris continues, “Whatever you have that you want to share on stage, we are just welcoming anything that people do.”

Come and display your talents and support your fellow students; attend open mic nights!
