Whitney Saunders is a sophomore here at Snow College from Riverton, Utah. Saunders loves two specific things in life, one being knitting, and the other being basketball.

Saunders played a little basketball growing up in the Jr. Jazz program, where she learned about the game from her dad. She didn’t get very serious until high school, where she excelled with her team. Saunders had a good feeling about joining the program at Snow and has loved the atmosphere here.

Saunders said her favorite thing about basketball is the team aspect, “I love having a team behind me, I can’t imagine my life without my team. I love the girls here. They are really amazing and make it very enjoyable here.”

Saunders is excited this season because the team did so well at the end of the previous season and they were hard to beat, she expects that to carry over to the start of this season.

Saunders’ favorite quote is from the famous Michael Jordan, “I can accept failure, everyone fails at something, but I can’t accept not trying.”

Teammate Sarah Taylor had this to say about Saunders, “She is a sweetheart, so kind and such a loving teammate towards everyone. She has her priorities straight and is always helpful on and off the court. Everyone thinks the world of her, all around just a great person and player!”
