Funeral Services were held for Snow College student Kaden “K-Whit” Whitney on Sept 21.

Kaden “K-Whit” Whitney, native to Gunnison Valley, passed away peacefully in his sleep in his home in Centerfield on the morning of September 16. Funeral services were held on September 21, in the Gunnison Stake Center, where friends and family came together to mourn their loss.

Whitney was a beloved friend of many students at Snow College, and had recently returned from serving an LDS mission in Mississippi. Whitney loved playing guitar, and was able to “play by ear”. He also enjoyed participating in sports, and was an active member in his faith, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Whitney was loved by all around him; friends, and family.

Whitney is survived by his parents, Eric and Janell Whitney, siblings Jenna, Devon, and Hunter Whitney, his girlfriend Hannah Mongie, his niece, and nephews, and several aunts and uncles.

Will Barney attended Snow College for two years. He graduated from American Leadership Academy (ALA). After Snow College he is attending Southern Utah University, and plans to get a B.A. in English with a minor in Secondary Education. Will is a Horror connoisseur, and enjoys comic books and video games.
