Lights, Acting, Action! Snow College presents the play, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead
Snow College’s next play on stage is, “Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead.” This play will be directed by Trent Bean, who is one of the assistant professors and the tech director at Snow College.
Rosencrantz and Guildenstern includes characters from Shakespeare’s Hamlet and is continuation of it. Rosencrantz and Guildenstern set out on a journey to discover what is afflicting Hamlet, their childhood friend. This play includes Shakespearean tragedy and suspense. These characters frequently make humorous observations and reflections. It also includes meeting a group of performing travelers, called the Tragedians, who seek solace through the arts. They also roam the castle of Elsinore and sail aboard a ship captured by pirates, eventually arriving at the hangman’s noose.
Regarding the purpose of the play, Bean said, “This long drop and a short stop of a show is sure to provide much laughter pause for thoughtful reflection on who is the main character in our own lives.”
Alex Hauter, one of the members of the cast made these comments regarding his experience in the play, “It’s been awesome. I’ve wanted to be involved in one of Snow’s productions since I’ve been here. The audience will gain a good laugh. The cast is a great group of people. I’m just glad to be part of it.”
