After finishing the regular season 9-1, including a 7-1 conference record, the Snow College football team is currently ranked no. 3 in the nation. The Badgers received an invite to play no. 9 ranked Dodge City Community College in the seventh annual Salt City Bowl.

The Badgers will face-off against the Conquistadors on Saturday, Dec. 5. The Salt City Bowl is played in Gowans Stadium, located in Hutchinson, Kansas. The location presents the first challenge for the Badgers, as the game will be played in the Conquistador’s home state. Dodge City is also located in the Sunflower State and is about a two-hour drive from Hutchinson, while Ephraim is more than 14 hours away by car.

Despite winning the Western States Football League Conference Championship, the Badgers will not be eligible to win the national championship this year. The NJCAA National Championship game will be played on Sunday, Dec. 6, 2015 in the Mississippi Bowl, located in Biloxi, Mississippi. No. 1 ranked Northwest Mississippi Community College will be pitted against no. 2 ranked Rochester Community and Technical College as they fight for the NJCAA title. This game features another home-field advantage, as the Rochester Yellowjackets, from Minnesota, will travel to the home state of the Northwest Mississippi Rangers to play in the championship game.

The football team this year has many returning sophomores, who have shown excitement to play in a bowl game as they finish what could be their final year at Snow. One of those sophomores, Cody Barlow, commented on the bowl game by saying, “We are excited to play in the bowl game because it gives us another chance to play as a team and we can end the season with another win.”

Snow looks to finish the season with continued success against ranked opponents, as they are 2-0 on the season.
