Snow College volleyball completed a historic season this year, by going undefeated in the regular season and wrapping up the No. 1 seed for the Region 18 Tournament this weekend.

Last Thursday, Snow defeated Utah State University – Eastern 3 – 1 to clinch the Scenic West Athletic Conference (SWAC) title. And then on Saturday the Lady Badgers took down Colorado Northwestern Community College (CNCC) 3 – 1 to finish the regular season undefeated in conference play.

After defeating USU-E, Snow College Coach, Jeff Reynolds said, “It’s fitting, USU-E has been the best in the conference with us all year. We kind of figured this would be the match [where we clinched].”

Snow’s record is 30 – 2, the most wins by Snow volleyball in its history during the rally play era. With the No. 1 seed in the tournament, the Lady Badgers will have a first round bye. They will play the winner of the CNCC vs. Salt Lake Community College (SLCC) game on Friday afternoon. Snow’s game will begin on Friday, Nov. 8, at 7 pm at the Horne Activity Center.

The winner of the Region 18 Tournament will get an automatic bid to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Tournament in Hutcheson, Kansas later this month. Although the Lady Badgers are ranked No. 5 in the nation, and could potentially earn an at-large bid if they do not win the tournament, Coach Reynolds says the team is not thinking about that.

“We’re not looking ahead, we just want to concentrate on the tournament and earning that automatic bid.”
