This Spring semester, Snow’s improv team is back with a new team and plenty of shows scheduled. “Let Them Improvise” (LTI) is Snow’s extremely popular theatre improv team. The number of team members varies by semester and is determined by auditions held at the beginning of each fall and spring semester.
This spring, Amy Heimbigner and Gavin Rouska continue in their positions as captains from last semester and have chosen seven other students to complete their team.
Casey Lamb, Brandon Davis, Ammon Black, and Dan Harvey are all returning members from last semester. The team also has three new members: Lauren Smith, Daniel Call, and Josh Hebert.
The first two shows of the semester were held on January 22 and 23 and each sold out with over 130 people attending each show.
Captain Amy Heimbigner told Snowdrift “LTI has grown a lot over this year, and we’re thrilled with how well we are received. I think this is really the only class at Snow that studies comedy like we do. Every night is a blast, and what we create is as surprising to us as it is to the audience. It’s so cool to see instant creation right before your eyes.”
Each show is approximately one hour long and consists of a variety of improvisation games. The format of the games is structured but the suggestions are taken from the audience and the content is created by each actor on the spot. The team uses their creativity, physical comedy and wit to keep the audience entertained and engaged throughout each phase of the game.
The team practices every Monday and Wednesday and shows are held at 9pm on select Fridays and Saturdays in the Black Box Theater in the Eccles Building. Shows only cost $1 and are open to the public. Seating is limited and the shows fill up quickly so it is best to arrive between 8:30 and 8:45 to guarantee a seat.
The LTI show for the rest of the semester are as follows:
January 29, 30
February 5, 6
March 4, 5, 11, 12, 18, 19
April 22, 23
