The Snow College softball team recently traveled to Las Vegas to start off their season. They came away from the tournament with 2 wins against Odessa and Central Arizona College and 3 losses against Yavapai College, Eastern Arizona College, and Arizona Western.
The team showed great promise with a grand slam hit by Carley Guymon during the game against Eastern Arizona College. Freshman, second-string pitcher, Sydni Sorensen said, “It was our first tournament of the season and we haven’t played since November. I look forward to seeing how we improve throughout the season.”
Sorensen also said, “I’m really excited about this season. It’s going to be a really good season for us.” Third-baseman Ashlee Murray is a sophomore this year. As her second and last season, she said,” I’m very excited to see what this season has to offer, but I’m sad to see it go because it is my last season in a Badger uniform.”
Last year the Snow College softball team played well. Murray is excited to see what the future has to offer. In regards to the team this year Murray states, “This team is better than last year, because of the unity on and off the field.”
Their season will officially start on March 3rd. This is the first conference game and they play the College of Southern Nevada. Go out and support the Lady Badgers softball team.
