It’s the start of a new year and it’s time for you gentlemen to freshen up your dating routine with these tips brought to you by the women of Snow College.

Being in a small town can lead to you becoming the guy who only does dinner and a movie every Friday night. Kari Thompson, an avid dater at Snow, points out, “Dinner and a movie has become too typical. I’m not sure if I’m hanging out or going on an actual date.”

Don’t worry; dinner and movie can still be classified as a good date idea, if you put more thought into it than what movie is playing that night. Instead of going out to dinner, which can become costly, stay in for the night and cook dinner together. Not only do you get to have fun cooking but you also get to learn about each other. Another option is getting take- out and enjoying a movie at your home or apartment.

If you really want to go out of your comfort zone and try doing something besides dinner and a movie, maybe some of these options are for you. Kylee Davis, a Snow College student, says, “I like getting the chance to know who I’m dating. Activities like roasting marshmallows over a camp fire or ice skating are some of the activities I prefer.”

There are many places around Ephraim or surrounding cities that can provide great dating opportunities like Yo-Crazy, Sugar Plum Cottage, Denny’s, and the Basin Drive-in Theatre. You just have to go out and find them.

However, if the outdoors or traveling really is not your thing then maybe try a board game. It’s not how much a date costs that impresses a girl. It’s how much thought and effort you put in to impress her. And remember, it’s not against the law to ask her what she wants to do…but only occasionally!
