The Student Body Advocates (SBAs) at Snow College work to make every student feel welcome. They are in charge of planning and organizing activities on campus. “We try to make Snow College a fun and enjoyable place for all of our students,” SBA Terrika Veater said.
Veater decided to become an SBA when her best friend was the Student Body President last year. She saw how involved he was in campus life and decided that she wanted to be involved, too. Since joining the SBA team, Veater has had the opportunity to “meet new people all the time and learn so many new things.”
“Our job is to be advocates for the students here at Snow College. We want everyone to be comfortable in coming and talking to us, whether it’s advice, ideas, or just to get to know us! We’re here to represent the students and make sure they have a good experience here,” Veater explained. The SBAs are here to listen to the students and to help in any way that they can.
If there are any students interested in joining the SBAs in the future, they should come to the Student Life Office in the GSC and join one of the many committees that they have in place. This is a way to get involved in the planning processes and to get a feel for whether or not it is something they would want to do next year. Anyone interested in student leadership should check out the SBAs. After all, “it’s always a good time!”
