Benjamin Bishop is a 21-year-old student attending Snow College. He does not have a particular major but he is thinking about going into engineering. He came to Snow because it is convenient, cheap and close to home. He has not decided where he is going after Snow.  It all depends on what he wants to go into for a major.

Bishop is from Manti, Utah, and graduated from Manti High in 2012. After he graduated, he went on an LDS mission to Portugal and returned this past December. He loved his mission because “the difference of culture was very interesting to experience. The chocolate was really good along with the pastries.”

Bishop is the fifth child out of 12 and dreams of going to Cape Verde, which is off the coast of Senegal in Africa, because of the “beautiful beaches, Portuguese speakers, and kind people.” Bishop’s favorite candy bar is Twix.  He loved   “Hogan’s Heroes” as a teenager, loves mashed potatoes and gravy, and loves to do any kind of puzzle game.

Some of his hobbies are rappelling, wheeling, hiking, and any activity that involves being in the mountains. He loves the fall season because it’s the “perfect temperature, awesome colors everywhere, not muddy, and it is close to Thanksgiving.”

His favorite family vacation was when he went to Nauvoo, Illinois because they had a lot of fun doing pioneer activities. One of his favorite childhood memories was what his family calls “Santa Traps.” It is a game where his dad would try to catch and prevent Santa from delivering presents to them under the Christmas tree. His favorite family tradition would be the Manti Pageant, “because of all the fun we have portraying the parts of the pageant.”

Bishop’s favorite holiday is Thanksgiving because of all the food. He spends a lot of time with his family and is happy with them. His favorite thing about himself is that he is always a happy person.
