Snow College volleyball is expected to do well this year, despite their slow start in conference play.

The Badgers opened up the season with a 14-4 record against non-conference opponents and entered conference play with a number 10 ranking in the nation.

Snow College is part of Scenic West Athletic Conference (SWAC) and entered conference play with the second-best non-conference record in the SWAC.

The Badgers had a slow start in conference play, with a record of 1-2. The two losses came to the only two conference opponents ranked ahead of them in national rankings.

Snow kept the number 10 ranking through the beginning of the season and began conference play against the number 9 ranked Salt Lake Community College Bruins. The Bruins swept the Badgers in the conference opener three games to none.

Snow played their first home game on Oct. 3 against North Idaho College and won that match 3-0. The next day the Badgers hosted the College of Southern Idaho (CSI), ranked number three at the time. This match ended 3-1 in favor of CSI.

The Badgers then went on a winning streak as they were victorious in their next three matches, including a home defeat of the then number 5 ranked SLCC Bruins on Oct. 18.

Snow plays on the road as they take on the College of Southern Idaho on Oct. 23 and North Idaho College on Oct. 25.

Snow’s next home game is on Oct. 31 against Utah State University Eastern at 7 p.m.
