This April, Marvel Studios will be releasing their biggest and most ambitious movie yet: Avengers: Endgame. With 21 other films preceding it, there’s a lot of information, characters, and storylines to keep track of. So here’s a list of the most important things to know in preparation for Endgame.
The most important overlying story arc is that of the original six Avengers and the six Infinity Stones. Anne Hill is a student here at Snow College and an avid Marvel fan. Hill said, “The most important heroes are Iron Man, Captain America, and Thor. I mean, they’re the only three with completed trilogies so far, so they’re the big players.” Other characters, such as the rest of the Avengers, the Guardians, and several more recent additions were almost all included in the film directly before Endgame, Avengers: Infinity War. Thought many of them have been left out of promotional material, for reasons not stated due to extreme spoilers, fans are certain they will see all their favorites at least once more in this film.
Outside of the slew of characters to keep, the story arcs to look out for are those that are coming to an end. Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, and Chris Hemsworth, the actors behind the big three mentioned above all have expiring contracts with Marvel, and finished trilogies. Up until now, their arcs have been the most important and the most well flesh out. Fans wonder what exactly is in store for their heroes; considering the current footage available, things do not look too bright.
Never fear, for the new heroes are here! Captain Marvel, who’s first film has now exceeded $1B at the box office, is set to appear in the film as well. Kevin Feige, the head of Marvel Studios, has said that she will be the new face of the MCU.
Regardless of how the film turns out, thousands of fans have already ordered tickets for opening weekend, and thousands more will follow. This film is set to break box office opening records as well as revenue streams.Avengers: Endgame will be available in theaters starting April 26 across the nation and the world.
