Women’s Basketball Starts Strong

Womens basketballThe women’s basketball team has started the season off strong, with a record of 5-2. The girl’s team has many players returning from last year as well as an equal amount of freshman and transfers from other schools.

The team traveled Casper, WY, and played three games as part of a tournament. In the first game, the Badgers beat Northeastern Junior College 81-58 and then beat Rocky Mountain Community College 67-35. The only loss they had on the weekend was against Casper Community College, 74-50, who was hosting the tournament.

Sophomore Jaden Anderson stated,” I felt like we grew closer this year and are playing more like a team. We all know our roles and are getting better and better each and every day.”

The players travel this week to Riverton, WY, and Powell, WY, to play three games.

Jalon Lewis is a freshman at Snow College. He grew up in Columbus, Ohio and graduated from Eastmoor Academy in 2015. He is majoring in Communications, and is also the starting point guard on the basketball team. When he has free time he enjoys hanging out with friends and having a good time. After Snow he plans to transfer to Utah State University to play basketball. In the future, he wants to be a sports broadcaster for ESPN.
