After a slow start to the season, the Women’s Basketball team is now
sitting at a 5-6 record in conference play, continuing their improvement as they move into the final stretch of the regular season.
Freshman Guard Mackenzie Royce said of her team’s improvement, “Defensively we have really improved. We’ve also improved by playing more as a team! I’m excited for the rest of the season to see how far we get and to see how much more we can improve.”
Through conference play, the team has had some hard fought games against the College of Southern Idaho, USU Eastern, Colorado Northwestern Community College, and Salt Lake Community College.
When asked her feelings on the progress of the team, Kayla Hugie said “There are a couple things that have impressed me with my team. We have been working on and doing well at congratulating and cheering on each other’s successes. We also are improving on our feel for each other’s strengths and tendencies to help us execute on the court. I think our full potential is yet to show, so I’m so excited to see that come out in some big games coming up.”
The regular season is wrapping up this month, then starting March 2nd, the Badgers will enter the Region 18 tournament with hopes of a conference title.
