Sometimes, life is hard. We as human beings don’t always understand what is happening to us or why we can’t control it. We don’t always know why we are stressed, or even what we are stressed about, we don’t always know why we feel the way that we do and we don’t always know how to fix it. This is why Snow College has their health and wellness center with qualified mentors available for your convenience.
The Snow College Health and Wellness Center is located in the social science building on the bottom floor room #109. They offer various types of mentors that are willing to help with anxiety, depression, mental illness, feeling lonely, suicide or just talking. The health and wellness center offers tools to try and help with these problems. Leader of the department Carra Ward claims “People don’t want to be fixed, they need to be heard.”
The Wellness Center has 24 student mentors who are highly trained and multiple councilors who are trained at a professional level and licensed. Not only can you go in and talk to them, the center also offers anonymous calling, texting or chatting. Cami Olsen, one of the Health and Wellness counselors says “I want students to feel like they have somewhere to go.”
The health and wellness department also does various activities throughout the semester such as prevention activities and a neon stomp that’s coming up in April. Be sure you get involved in these activities and don’t be afraid to contact someone if you feel like you need to. You can make an appointment online or just go into the office. Remember, you are worth it.
