Badgers Step up to the Plate

Don't forget to like and share! 🙂

The Badger Softball team kicked off its 2019 season in the CSN Kickoff Classic in Las Vegas. The team won its first game of 2019 in a thrilling 14-13 victory over Eastern Arizona College. This wave of momentum is creating quite the buzz, returning starter Brooke Brown commented, “We are looking forward to seeing how much we grow as a team and see if we can accomplish our goal of winning the championship at the end of the season.” The team is riding high expectations after a promising 2018 season.

The 2018 season ended bittersweet for the Badger softball team as they placed third in the Scenic Western Athletic Conference. Their 33-21 record was the best season posted in more than five years at Snow College. Cleary softball is trending up thanks to great coaching and a team that believes in each other. When asked about the team’s biggest strength Avery Reynolds, a sophomore from Spanish Fork Utah, responded “One of the biggest strengths of our team is that we are like a family, we believe in each other.”

The Badger Softball team firmly believes they can accomplish anything this year! A conference championship may even be on the horizon, especially after having key starters return and bringing in a great recruiting class. The toughest competition this season should come from the College of Southern Idaho and SLCC (Salt Lake Community College). With wins against these two top schools, the Badgers would be well on their way to winning it all in May.

Softball promises to become a big part of student life this semester. “Everyone should come to at least one game,” Kadi Bateman, an incoming Freshman stated. The team will put on a show no matter the opponent. Come on out and cheer on the Badgers when they play their first home game of the season, March 8th, against the College of Southern Nevada.
