It has been thirty three years since Utah opened a new ski resort. However, Utah will be opening its fifteenth in the middle of November. Cherry Peak is located fifteen miles north of Logan, and offers many activities in addition to skiing and snowboarding.
For their first official season, they are offering an opening deal_ a Cherry Peak Resort season pass costs 315 dollars, and the season lasts from mid-November to March 31. A season pass at Beaver Mountain costs 535 dollars, and the season lasts from November 16 to April 6.
Cherry Peak offers a wide variety of activities for all ages and for all levels of experience. There are multiple ski and snowboard trails, with difficulties ranging from beginner to advanced. There are three triple chair lifts. A three-lane hill, with a lift, is to tubing. Near the lodge, there is a 500 foot “Magic Carpet” to help beginners learn. There is a large night skiing area.
Along with these snow centered activities, Cherry Peak hosts concerts, weddings, receptions, family reunions, parties, and many other social events. During the summer, they offer passes for mountain biking and racing.
The resort provides many courtesies and services. They will have a snow machine for when the snow begins to melt and become icy. There are more than twenty ski and snowboard runs, the longest being 1.25 miles long. Rentals are available for boards, skis, and tubes. A shuttle from Richmond to the resort will be running during the season. Skiing and boarding lessons will be available.
