Hey Badgers, Do you love cooking as much as I do but don’t have the money or time for it? Let me share with you an affordable and time-saving recipe that will blow your mind. This recipe is full of exciting smells that will fill your nostrils with tingling sensations.

Do you enjoy pizza, cheese, and tortillas? Well, I present to you, Margherita Pizza Quesadillas. Will this affordable recipe make you question the meaning of life? Oh yes!  The colors and textures will compel you to go back for more. This recipe is genius. Sorry…. let me get back to the food. Margarita Pizza Quesadillas are filled with slices of big red juicy tomatoes, delicate milky slices of mozzarella cheese, and the fresh aroma of basil leaves, adding the finishing touch to a work of art.

A couple of Snow College’s very own Badgers participated in testing out the theory. Here is what Jordan Saucier had to say, “Italy meets Mexico with a healthy and affordable dish.”  Sierra Bailey added, “My love for cheap and affordable food is all I need to survive college, so sign me up,”

There you have it Badgers, try this recipe, and share it with your friends. Let’s get down to the steps.

Ingredients:

  • Slices or shredded Mozzarella cheese
  • Tortillas
  • Basil
  • Tomatoes
  • Marinara sauce (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Chop up the basil and slice the tomatoes as desired.
  2. Place a pan on the the stove and use oil if necessary, then turn the dial to a low temperature, and place the tortilla on the pan.
  3. Leave the tortilla on the pan for a minute, flip to the opposite side and leave it on for about a minute until it is a slight golden brown. Make sure the tortilla does not cook too much to a crisp, because you still need to add the toppings.
  4. If you choose to add red sauce, spread it all over one side of the tortilla and then top the tortilla with as much cheese, basil, and tomato as desired.
  5. Once the toppings are added, you can flip the tortilla in half or leave it flat, like a pizza. Let the tortilla heat to a crisp while the ingredients warm up.

Once the tortilla is done, serve and enjoy.
