The Honors program is dedicated to enhancing students’ experiences at Snow College. A part of that included a trip, and this year they traveled up to Salt Lake City and attended the Utah Opera.

A couple of days before the event, Snow College honors students went to an opera presentation. There, students listened to presenters who told the history and interesting facts about the opera. Once the learning was over and the weekend came honors students gathered together to travel up to the opera.

Students had an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to attend the opening night of the opera Tosca. Dressed to nines, Snow Badgers watched performers sing beautiful songs in Italian and play out the tragic story of Tosca. Fortunately for the students the opera provided English subtitles so Badgers could follow along with the classic story. After all was said and done, Snow honors students enjoyed this original honors experience.

Shelby Rasmussen is a sophomore at Snow College. She graduated from North Sanpete High School in 2014 and is now pursuing a degree in radiology. Shelby loves adventure, helping others, and photography. She says that radiology brings all of those things together. After finishing her generals and pre-requisites, she hopes to transfer to one of the three schools in Utah that teach radiology.
