Advertising for the iPhone 6 began in the middle of August. It caused excitement, and many Apple users couldn’t wait for it to be released. But was it really all it was cracked up to be?
The iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 plus were released on September 19, 2014. People were camped outside buildings waiting in line three days before, just so they could be one of the first to experience the newest Apple product.
The iPhone 6 is 6.9 millimeters thick and has a diagonal of 4.7 inches, and the iPhone 6 plus is 7.1 millimeters thick and has a diagonal of 5.5 inches. The iPhone 5 was 7.6 millimeters, and only had a diagonal of 4 inches, making the new iPhone 6 thinner, but larger.
Apple says that this phone is more durable, that it will be harder to break this phone than any other phone they have ever made, but is that true?
Apple made the new phone slightly bendable, so that it could bend in the pocket, without breaking. However, some users have found that when they put their new iPhone in their back pocket and sit on it, it’s not quite as bendable as expected. Some iPhones have been permanently deformed, even to the point where the screens have retracted from the frame, and the screens have cracked.
Users cannot post official reviews about the iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 plus until October 14, although many fan pages and unofficial reviews have been posted.
