The weekend of April 11 is going to be full of suicide prevention and awareness at Snow College.
Grab your friends, family, and anyone else you can find and head on over to the practice field on Friday, April 11, for an hour- long concert. Matt Struthers will be performing with his band and everyone is invited to enjoy some great music and entertainment.
After the concert, “We will be having a candlelight vigil in honor of all of those who have either dealt with, been touched by, or are a survivor of a suicide attempt to Matt’s song, ‘ Blue Jay’,” said Carra Ward.
The weekend doesn’t end there. On Saturday, April 12, the Out of the Darkness Walk will begin. Everyone is invited to meet at the South Town Movie Theater at 10:00a.m. to hear an incredible speaker, Greg Hundall. Ward said, “Mr. Hundall is a wonderful speaker on suicide prevention and has had great success on the fight against the suicide epidemic.”
Following Mr. Hundall’s speech, everyone is asked to walk to the plaza where Carra Ward has arranged for bounce houses, and fun for students and families. There will be a 64- foot blow up obstacle course, a karaoke contest with JD Fox Productions, and many cool prizes.
Don’t miss out on all the fun. “It would be a pleasure for you all to attend and this cause is such a worthwhile cause,” said Ward.
