Snow College Rodeo is Excelling

Don't forget to like and share! 🙂

Since 2013, when Kendra Bagley first started the Snow College Rodeo team, team has done very well and this year is no exception. The Rocky Mountain Region standings so far for this year’s Rodeo Team are; the men’s team in seventh place with 650 points and the women’s team in ninth place with 150 points.

In the individual standings several of our students are excelling in their events. In Steer Wrestling, Bodrey Allred is sitting 11th. Jaid Stowell is sitting 13th in Barrel Racing.

Topping the team so far this year is Brazilian team roper, Joao Miranda. He is currently the #2 Heeler in both the Region and the National College Rodeo Standings. This is Joao’s third year here at Snow College; he chose Snow College because of “the people ‘’ he says, “you got to get along with the people.”

Joao’s end goal is chasing his dreams, which are to get to the yellow arena which is the NFR. He qualified last year for the College National Finals Rodeo and is well on his way to a second consecutive CNFR Qualification this year along with his roping partner, Casey Thomas of Southern Utah University.

The members of the Rodeo team are playing with their heart and soul; this is a sport that they love doing. The next rodeo that Snow College will attend will be on March 4th and 5th of 2022 at the Blackhawk Arena in Salina, Utah; the team hopes to see the stands full of Badgers.
