Snow College defeated Arizona Western College 82-78 in their first home game of the regular season. Hagen Wright led the team in scoring with 25 points on 9-12 shooting. He shot perfectly from behind the three point line and free throw line, going 2-2 and 5-5 respectively. He also led the team in rebounds with eight total. Clayton Southwick had 18 points on 9-14 shooting. Drake Allen nearly had a double-double with nine points and a team leading ten assists. Snow shot 55.9% as a team.
The next day Snow College annihilated Jump Start Sports Academy 117-70. Hagen led the team in scoring with 22 points on 7-8 shooting. Clayton was the second highest scorer with 17 points on 8-10 shooting. Drake led the team in assists and led in rebounds, with nine and six respectively. Snow held every Jump Start player under ten points except two. Snow shot 66.2% overall and 47.8% behind the three point line.
Unfortunately, the next weekend Snow lost their first game in Florida 53-67 to Florida Southwestern State. Snow shot only 32.8% overall and 8.3% behind the three point line. Nobody on the team scored more than 13 points.
However, the next day Snow bounced back with a one point overtime victory against Eastern Florida State College. One of the Eastern Florida players shot a 3 with a few seconds remaining, but the referees called it a 2 because they deemed his foot was on the line. “I thought we were going to a second overtime,” Drake said.
Chase Potter had 27 points on 12-20 shooting. Snow shot 50% overall as a team.
Over Thanksgiving break, Snow defeated McCook Community College in a neutral game in Twin Falls, Idaho. In the 100-60 victory, Wyatt Lowell scored 23 points. Snow shot 56.2% overall and 45.2% behind the three point line. “Wyatt Lowell is important in that thing, he’s a really good shooter and just working on his confidence and he hit a bunch of shots for us up in Twin Falls,” coach Robert Nielson said.
The next day, Snow defeated Northeastern 78-68. Chase led the team with 25 points on 9-14 shooting. Drake had 22 points.
Snow will start playing conference games this week, starting at home on December 2 versus Colorado Northwestern.
