Snow College is looking to broaden it’s athletic lineup with the announcement of the return of a wrestling program. This will include the start of competition next fall for both men and women.

To lead this team, Snow’s athletics has hired Kimball Bastian to be the Men’s wrestling coach. “I’m really looking forward to establishing a culture with a brand new wrestling program,” said new Head Coach Bastian.

Bastian is passionate about giving wrestlers the opportunity to take the next step in competitive wrestling, and believes this program is exactly what is needed.

Bastian has a hopeful perspective of this new opportunity. “As long as we can get the Utah wrestling community to rally and see what a special opportunity this is for Utah wrestling, we should be okay.”

This addition has proven to be a big deal to both former students and current students. Shaun Harrop, a former Snow College student, and current wrestling referee in California, had this to say about the wrestling program: “It is very exciting to see Snow bringing back their wrestling program after 40 years. After I had returned home from my mission Snow dropped the program, so it’s great to see it is back.”

The program will be based in the Richfield Snow campus. Snow Badgers’ Men’s team will begin competing with various NJCAA opponents and also some four year schools starting next fall.
