Art galleries at Snow College display the work of students and faculty as well as permanent collections and traveling art shows.
For hundreds of years, art galleries and exhibitions have played a crucial role in society. Art provides a means of communication unlike any other. At Snow College, art galleries are important for the development of the skills of art students. The galleries create a place for critique and conversation about art and also give inspiration for students’ work. The showcasing of student’s work in the galleries pushes their work beyond the bounds of the classroom.
Snow College is home to the Snow College Art Gallery and the Altspace and Annex galleries.
The Snow College Art Gallery houses the Snow College Permanent Collection and occasionally displays national and solo group shows. Select student work is displayed annually, and faculty work biannually.
The Altspace and Annex galleries are dedicated to showcasing the work of Snow College students. They display drawings, paintings, and a wide variety of sculptures created by students. The Altspace gallery is located at the west end of the Snow College Art Gallery in the Humanities and Arts Building, and the Annex gallery is next to the lobby of the Eccles Center.
