The University of Utah pulled out a big win against the Michigan Wolverines last Thursday, Sep. 3. This was the first college football game out of all Division I colleges in America. Many expected a big performance from the Wolverines after the recent hiring of new Head Coach, Jim Harbaugh. Harbaugh coached the San Francisco 49ers of the National Football League for 4 years. Harbaugh also played at Michigan as well as 14 seasons in the NFL. Even though Michigan has had some down years lately, many people expected Harbaugh to turn the program around because of his successful résumé.
This upcoming Friday, Sep. 11, the Utes will face Utah State. This game is greatly anticipated not only because they are both in-state, but because both programs have been improving in recent years. Utah State is also 1-0 after week one, with their defeat of Southern Utah University with a score of 9-12. The Utes are favored to win, but many expect this game to be close.
