When Tuesday’s NSCAA (National Soccer Coaches Association of America) Coaches Poll came out, the men’s soccer team at Utah Valley University found themselves ranked no. 25. After a tough loss to no. 15 ranked Denver in overtime, and a win against Cal State Fullerton, UVU jumped into the top 25 for the first time in school history. With an overall record of 7-2, Utah Valley is in great position as conference play begins this upcoming week. With big games against Air Force and Missouri-Kansas City coming up, and ten games left in the season, the Wolverines have a good opportunity to climb even higher in the rankings during this historic season.
Three players on the Wolverine team have three goals each, sharing the lead for the squad’s top scorers. That to go along with two goalies combining for four shutouts in nine games, things are looking up as the season moves forward for Utah Valley. Going into conference play the Wolverines look to continue with their good play to put themselves in a good spot when the Western Athletic Conference tournament starts on November 12.
