Snow College is welcoming two new sports programs to the Ephraim and Richfield campuses. Beginning in Fall of 2024, Snow is bringing in a cross country program for both men and women at the Richfield campus and a junior varsity football program at the Ephraim campus.

These programs will introduce a new way for students to stay active while enrolled at Snow. “We believe these additions will help us expand opportunities to more students while providing the excellent student experience that is unique to Snow College,” Rob Nielson, Vice President for External Affairs and Athletic Director, said.

The addition of more athletic programs can enhance enrollment for Snow College Ephraim and Richfield campuses while putting forward the enhancement of the campuses.

The Richfield program has hopes of opening opportunities for new students by creating the cross country program. Local students who ran cross country or track in high school now have a way to participate in sports provided by the school. Richfield campus bringing this program to campus also opens opportunities for intramurals and student life at the tech school.

Ephraim welcoming a JV football program will open opportunities for many students, including ones who tried out for the varsity football team. Neilson mentions that the program will open 60 new slots for students to try out for the team. While the teams will not open any new scholarship opportunities, students already attending or looking to attend Snow College will have opportunities to continue sports after high school.

Cody Branch, Vice President of Student Affairs, said. “We are thrilled about the opportunity to onboard the JV football program in Ephraim and the cross country team in Richfield, as both will help us grow and provide a Snow experience to more students while enhancing the student life experience on both of our campuses.”
