As the spring semester kicks off, students across campus are lacing up their sneakers, getting ready to dive into the new intramural season.
Whether a seasoned athlete, casual player, or someone just looking for a good time, there's something for everyone in this semester's lineup as the hunt for a coveted intramural championship T-shirt begins again.
“Come March first, we will have a new set of sports that we’re gonna be playing,” says Coach Magalogo, the intramural coordinator here at Snow. “We will do a basketball tournament, flag football tournament, and probably volleyball as well.”
She continues to talk about the friendly-yet-competitive atmosphere of these games. She says “It’s a fun way to meet new people, athletics is so fun to be a part of and it's perfect for both those who did and didn’t play sports in high school.”
Registration for intramural sports is not yet open but students will be able to register individually or as part of a team. All skill levels are welcome, making this a perfect opportunity for beginners to try something new.

Participating in intramurals is about more than just competition. It’s an excellent way to stay active, build community, and improve mental health. Studies show that regular physical activity can help reduce stress and improve focus, two benefits every college student could use.
"Intramurals are one of the best ways to feel connected on campus," said Casey Garner, who played in the Flag Football league last semester. "It’s not just about the games; it’s about the friendships you make along the way."
Keep an eye out for sign ups and try your luck at intramurals this semester.
