At this point of the semester, many students start to buckle down in their school work, or at least attempt to. With motivation going down and temperatures going up, it can be hard to not think about how summer is on its way. In the meantime though, students can take time to enjoy the sun and give themselves a break.
Entering the last five weeks of school, the grass is getting greener, nights seem to stick around a little longer, new friendships are being made, and the time between classes can be trying a new activity and experiencing Ephraim in a new light.
“Study early, and play late. I will sleep when I am dead”, said student Nate Morely. On another student’s perspective, Jeremiah shared, “I do my homework early because I have more motivation during the day, especially early in the day or the morning and because I know my motivation goes down as the day goes on. That way I don’t have to worry about it at night”
Ephriam is a perfect place to get creative and think outside the box when trying a new hobby. Spring opens the door to getting friends, classmates, or other people on campus together to play pickleball, softball, kickball, or capture the flag. The Ephraim Sports complex alone has enough space to host all of these activities.
“The warm weather makes me happy and more motivated and even more social so I want to do things with people. Since I want to be outside it leaves me more time to explore and make new plans.” shared Kate Cunningham.
The weather allows for new adventures such as heading up the canyon for a bonfire and smores, going hammocking, hitting golf balls off a ledge, and even the chance to buy some sling shots and setting up targets to hit with rocks. Students can get creative and try something that makes these last five weeks some of the best yet.
While it is hard to stay engaged, students can work hard in the classroom so when the opportunity to make new memories presents itself, it will be time to jump and try it any of the new opportunities that the Spring brings.
