Calling all student writers, photographers, and artists! Want to be published in a literary journal? Want to share original and imaginative content? Look no further than Weeds.

What is Weeds publication? Weeds is a student run, and student produced journal that promotes creativity through photography, poetry, fiction, and creative non-fiction. Work published in the journal is done by both amateurs and professionals alike. All works in the journal are done by local high school and Snow College students.

Here is what Shey Bloomfield, the managing Editor had to say about Weeds. “Weeds is such a fun opportunity for all students to experience the publication process. There is a lot more that goes into it than it seems, but we have a lot of fun doing it.” Weeds is a place where creativity can run wild and give you experience publishing.

Why submit? Autumn Pipes, the head editor, said, “I love that this journal is an opportunity for not only budding artists, writers, and photographers but also for the editors.

Anyone can submit their work and have a solid chance at being published, which is incredible for resumes and hobbyists alike. It provides insight into the publishing and editing process.” Even if one is not going into publication or editing it is a great experience to add to a resume.

At this time, submissions can be taken through snow.edu, simply search up Weeds. The last day to submit is coming up fast! The deadline is February 16.

Want to join the staff? Anyone interested in joining can now sign up for English 2290 or “Methods of Practicing of Professional Editing and Publishing”. The class will meet up three times a week to select submissions, layout, and design. They expect this edition to be out to the public around April 16.
