The Weeds Literary Journal here at Snow is underway, and editors and staff have been hard at work making sure that it is ready for publication.

The journal accepted art, poetry, fiction, and nonfiction submissions from high school and Snow College students and faculty in February. Staff then selected pieces to publish in the journal. They also worked on the layout of the journal, and worked with authors to edit and refine their pieces.

The advisor for the Weeds staff, Heather Holland said, “There are 27 Snow College student writers, and then one faculty member from a high school. 24 artists and photographers, one of them being a student from South Sevier High School, and another a Snow College faculty member.”

Autumn Pipes, the Editor in Chief and author in the journal, said, “I am so excited for authors and artists to see their work published—myself included! Having a physical book with your words printed in it is such a magical experience and I am looking forward to everyone having that with Weeds.”

The publication and launch party for the journal is set for April 23,  at the Co-op building from 6:00 to 8:00.
