A run for yourself or for others. On the night of September 9th, Snow College students
gathered together to run and walk for mental health awareness.
As students began to arrive and check in at 8 pm, booths with glow sticks, paint, and
glitter were available for those who wanted to decorate themselves for the 5K. When asked why
she did all these activities, Eliza Henry stated, “Because it's fun, and it made it that much more
fun, because we were so decked out. I like looking bright and colorful.”
At 9 o’clock, the students lined up to start the 5K. The runners were at the front, while
the students who walked were at the back. As the students ran the course set up for them, there
were posters on the sides with information about mental health awareness on them.
As the students came to the end of the 5K, fellow students cheered them on. Alumni and
other students stayed until the very last person crossed the finish line. Freshman, Eliza Henry
said, “I felt very accomplished, but I also felt like I was doing something good by doing the run.”
