Welcome to Curdlesburg! In this tiny Old-West town, “Milk Makes the World Go ‘Round.” However, disaster strikes when all of the town’s beloved cows go missing the same day a stranger arrives. It’s up to the sheriff’s son, Todd, to figure out what happened to the cows, and prove that he has what it takes to fix it.

When the Cows Come Home is an original student production written and directed by Snow’s very own Jackson Brown and Shayla Florence. It’s a fun, silly play about spies and cowboys, created so people could come relax and have a good time. “You just come see it and have fun… I hope that’s the objective truth that everyone is going to see this and love it.” said Hayden Williams.

Jackson and co-creator Shayley Fausset explained that they had wanted to put on a production of their own because most of their friend group is graduating from Snow this year. When they sat down to write the play, Jackson said spies at the same time Shayley said cowboys. The natural choice was to continue with someone going undercover as a cowboy to spy on another cowboy.

Jackson and Shayley came up with this idea in November. They then had to get a script in for approval within a few days. With only four months to prepare a musical from scratch, and only three weeks for the actors to learn the script and choreography, everyone was running on a very tight schedule.

On top of this short timeframe, only 30 people were working on this show from start to finish where most shows have over 100.

“Everyone here is doing a thousand jobs.” Shayley explained. “It’s a huge labor of love on all of the parts.”

Jackson added that, “this show would not have been possible except that everybody involved was so incredible. [They] went above and beyond every step of the way to make it happen.”

Shayla Florence, director for When the Cows Come Home, said that everyone involved with the show did such a great job. They put an amazing piece together in such a short amount of time and Shayla said that she couldn’t be more proud of all the work these amazing people put into the show.

Roughly 200 people came to watch the musical, and audience members were udderly delighted with it. They continually expressed how much they loved the show and wanted to see it again. Viewers were overjoyed when they found out that the musical would be uploaded to YouTube on April 21.

The audience agreed that the show turned out really well and they couldn’t wait to see it again.
