Theater staff and students are diligently working to prepare for Anastasia.

The Snow College Theater Department is gearing up for their production of Anastasia the Musical directed by Jenn Chandler. The musical reimagines the life of Anastasia Romanov based on the 1997 animated film. In the production The Grand Duchess Anastasia Romanov is rumored to have survived the execution of the Russian Imperial family while a brave young woman journeys to discover who she truly is.

As opening night ebbs closer the production team is working hard in their respective roles to get their show ready. The set is being designed, constructed and painted. Rehearsals are held six out of seven days of the week while actors, the director, and stage management attend faithfully to rehearse and perfect their craft. Props, furniture, and set pieces are being pulled, constructed, and altered. Lights are being hung, focused, and programmed. Over ten dozen costumes are being skillfully fabricated and fitted! From the construction shop to the box office, everyone is pulling out all the stops.

When Conner Power, the assistant director, was asked his thoughts on how the show is coming together he said, “Jenn is one of the most creative and amazing directors I have ever worked with. Her vision brings everything to life in such a beautiful way; that's also thanks to the actors. The actors have been so amazing to work with, every single one is so dedicated to this. It's been so inspiring to see how much people care about this process. Even the production team puts so much thought and research into their designs. Watching it come together has been so beautiful and amazing, and I'm really lovin’ it!”

The production runs February 19th-22 and February 26th-March 1st. Be sure to check out all the hype, and experience the story of the lost Grand Duchess of Russia, Anastasia the Musical.
